Hi, please help understand next:
1) I have p1.swf with attached p1.as(var s). Inside p1.swf load p2.swf with attached p2.as
how to access "var s" from p1.as in p2.as?
2) How make stop in 45 frame in as3? and i don't understand how control timeline in as3.

So I am really new to Actionscript and I have been learning Flex too. Flex has an httpService which is nice, but I really would like to have it embedded in my classes so they can lazy load and give me more control when I load and how much. I need to be able to send post vars to my server portal and it will return xml to me. Any help would be great. Thanks.

hey, ive just joined. Im a uni student in my final year (digital media development). Im having problems with my final year project actionscript 2 in OO. I have external swf buttons inported into flash at runtime......

before my problem was that i couldnt assign an onrelease function to the buttons and get it to work...

I then loaded the imported swfs into individual empty movieclips for each ones (much like how you would create an image gallery) now it works (yey)... but the buttons do not move on rollover as you would expect. Before i implimented this solution the buttons were doing the rollover

Have you got any advice as to what i should do?

hey guys and gals,

I have a swf that has an "import mx.controls.Alert;" going on. it works fine on it's own, but this swf is loaded into another when used and the alerts do not show up. I get this output message:

"Failed to create a new alert, probably because there is no Alert in the Library"

I have pasted the import command on all parent timelines of the swf that is loading this swf, but get the same. what is it about loading a swf that imports into another that I need to know?

Learning ActionScript 3.0 and doing advanced animation is making me realize that I unfortunately need to learn trigonometry. Everything that moves dynamically has velocity, angle, time, etc and I find myself needing to comprehend Sine, Cosine, Tangent and Arc Tangent!

Oh well, it will be fun to know, once I'm done with the taxing learning process. I would like to comprehend how an arrow is animated using direction and velocity, and how to keep the tip of the arrow pointed forward.
